We need more volunteers to help. Please see Nancy for more information and to let her know you are interested. · Coed Volleyball will begin September 7th at Hollins Road Baptist. Please let Barry Webb know if you plan to play. Also, please pass this information on to other persons who may be interested. · Any users of the building, please make sure that all lights, heating, air conditioning, etc. are turned off and all doors are locked when you leave. · We are starting to collect for the shoe box ministry in November. Now is the time to buy most articles during back to school sales. We need pencils, spiral binders, crayons, pens, markers, coloring books, sunglasses, socks, underwear, flip flops, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, brushes, hair clips, small games, yo-yo’s, jump ropes, hard candy or anything a child might like. No liquids or war type toys. You may give it to Butch Hartman or leave it in Brenda’s classroom. · Lunch Buddies will start the week of October 4th. Please let Pastor Jay know if you are interested in volunteering. · We are collecting school supplies for the children at Garden City Elementary. Specific items requested include book bags, glue sticks, and pencil boxes. Any typical school supplies will be appreciated. A box will be placed in the Welcome Center for your donations. · Pastor Jay is planning to go on a mission trip to Haiti in September. Please consider whether you would like to participate in a love offering that he will take to the orphanages of Haiti. Please use the special envelopes on the backs of the pews for your contribution. · Sunday, August 29th all Deacons, past and present, are invited to bring their families to a potluck luncheon in the Fellowship Hall after Worship Service. · We will begin a Sunday evening series beginning on Sept. 12th at 6pm. The sessions will be based on Dr. David Jeremiah’s DVD sermon series entitled “The Mysteries of Heaven” and should last about one hour each including question and answer time.
